I am the Bass Guitarist for JOLLY and I had a Thumb 5 custom made with a Humbucker at the bridge pick up and a single coil at the Neck.
The sounds I get from this are amazing I have to say. My EQ pot is a push pull so I can switch from the bridge being single coil or hum. My pup knob lets me balance how much hum vs single coil I want. I can make my Thumb have so many different sounds and in general it has a more unique sound that fits in my mix so well.

Anyone else?

Welcome to the forum Anthony! :d

I think the Thumb NT 5 and humbuckers are a match made in heaven.

Did you use this bass on "The Audio Guide To Happiness"???

Thank you for the warm welcomes everyone! Great to see a place where bass lovers can hang out.

I will try to put up some clips so you can hear this monster as soon as I get a chance. Hopefully it does it justice.

I used it on The Audio Guide to Happiness, it's somewhere on Part I or Part II, I'll leave it up to you to figure out where... This should be fun...

Man, I love your tone on The Audio Guide to Happiness Part 1 ! Great songs too. The Pattern is plain AWESOME. So tell me... Did you use that Thumb on The Pattern? ;-)

When is Part 2 gonna be released?

Thanks you so much, I actually didn't use this Bass on that song, but only because it wasn't built when we were recording The Pattern, I would have loved to have it for that.

We're looking forward to Part II's release, we wanted people to become really familiar with part I before we release part II. Also we plan to do some touring for part I soon. But don't you worry, it will be coming out before you know it!

So what bass did you use on that song then?

Well that would be like talking about an Ex girlfriend right in front of your new girlfriend now wouldn't it haha.
If you really want to learn more or ask me anything you can go to JOLLY's forum at Jollyband.com or our facebook page. There's a section for each of us and we just talk about anything really, what ever questions you have.
I like Warwick's forum because I just love being apart of this Bass and Music loving community. It's pretty cool that people who otherwise wouldn't have met, now have conversations and learn about each other just because we all like the same Bass company even if our music styles are different... what a concept.

I just wanted to let people know how awesome the humbucker was on my Thumb, and now I've had the pleasure of meeting some interesting people.

Hey Anthony,

We try to be more a bassists forum, and less a brand forum. We are a brand forum, because we all love Warwick here, and thare are good infos, yes. But we discuss with respect for all the brands out there. Sure if someone joins the forum jst to tell us that Warwick sucks, that would be rude, but if someone tells us that he also loves a Marleaux bass for example, that's cool. I mean most of the members here own more than one single brand, so disrespecting the other brands means disrespecting the users.

We just love Warwick more :-)

Ok, well then in that case Ian, I used a G&L L2000 when I recorded The Pattern, and I apreciate that you like the tone on that song, we messed around for a while to get that.

All right, mystery solved :) Though I think you will see that Warwicks are a fun animal...I tend to literally run my EQs pretty much flat with just a tad of highs or different lows depending on situation. It was real awesome for me to finally play an instrument that did not need bending into a good tone with huge amounts of EQ :)

ehh it's ok... haha, I really do apreciate that compliment about tone, it's pretty important to me.

Out of all albums, which would you say have some of the greatest bass tones?

You mean, any album from any artist?

"Awake" by Karnivool
"10000 Days" by Tool
"Anno Domini High Definition" by Riverside

Amongst others....

Totally agree with you on that on, Ian. :d

I'd add "S.C.I.E.N.C.E." by Incubus, "Permanent Waves" by Rush, and "LD 50" by Mudvayne
