1997 Streamer LX with Black Hardware

Does anyone know if the black hardware on this Streamer LX would have been ordered as a custom shop option in 1997 or just came this way from the factory?

I've a magazine review of this bass and it came with a choice of hardware to compliment the body colour. The black is understated tbh I think gold would have looked pretty good against the red! ;0)
 
Don´t know if it´s a CS order, but red finish and black hardware sure looks classy.
 
Thanks for your input guys! I have yet to see this bass in person. It's on its way to me. I just picked it up over the weekend. These are the seller's photos.

I think the standard gold hardware would have looked great as well, although the black is more unique. Both of my SSIIs have a natural finish with gold hardware so this one will be different and a nice contrast.

I really like the combination of the bold red stained high polish finish with the understated black hardware. I think classy was a good way to put it.;)

Standard for Lx's is chrome, but I think distributers could order black as an option. I have an 05 Lx in red stain that also had factory black hardware. it looks great.
TIP: if you wanna make it look even better get some DR black beauties- black strings on a red bass with black HW looks freakin awesome

Actually I wanted to say "gold hardware looks cheap", but as most people thinks the opposite as I do in this matter, I said "black hardware looks classy" just to be polite. ;)

I find gold hardware classy in some basses, black hardware in other basses... There is Chrome too... This discussion is pointless :-)

Wisdom on colour choice is available "on tap", how more black could this the be? and the answer is none. none more black.

Streamer LX was always with gold hardware as standard, so this is a custom order, or after modification :-)

I have gotten to the point where I will only buy Warwicks that have a wenge neck. I play Warwicks exclusively because nothing else ever feels or sounds right for me. There's definitely something magical in the tone wenge produces that's missing when I hear a bass without a wenge neck. Wenge feels amazing to the touch and you don't feel any drag when playing. In short, I am a big wenge fan as well!

Since there are not very many new Warwick models produced with a wenge neck, my last "new" (not purchased as used) acquisition was the 2006 P-Nut II Signature bass that was produced with a wenge/purpleheart neck. Discussing this bass is also fitting because it was made in the Custom Shop. I have since sold the bass, but man was it a beauty!

My Streamer LX is a '98, so it also has an all-wenge neck. And you're right, there's definitely something magical about that neck wood... :twisted:

Yeah, I saw the pictures of your bass in your profile....sweet looking bass you got there!:eek:

It looks like a lot like mine build wise. Although yours has the JANII and mine the JANI. I'm sure it sounds ridiculously awesome because mine sure does:!:;)

You just reminded me that I had planned to get either a JAN3 or JAN1 for it... but yeah, the LX is a beast - especially as a 4-string with the P/J setup. 8:
