1990 Thumb, fretless, neck through

I never liked it when someone's first post was to sell something...but here I go...

I have just put up for auction (on e bay) my 1990 Thumb, 4 string, fretless, neck through. I've never seen one for sale before so I thought I would post it here so people could check it out...even just to see a Warwick bass they may have never seen before.
 
Hi mrcob. Sometimes I think some guys here have seen every warwick that has left the factory! ;-)

Someone scared me with an email earlier today about the fret markers on the neck… I researched it and have since changed my auction. I did a Google search for 1990 fretless Warwick bass and found plenty of basses in both forms (that is, with the fret markers and without). The fret markers are inlaid wood and the fretboard is smooth. It seems that Warwick offered it both ways.

Here are some 1990 Warwick basses with and without the markers:

That first pic looks like a defretted Thumb. I'm pretty confident all fretless Thumbs have ebony fretboards (with some exceptions, but never wenge, which that bass looks like). Lined fretlesses sure, but not with dots.
 
Yeah, now that you point out the dots, I think I agree that one is probably a de-fret. Here's some other pictures of Warwick fretless basses with fret lines inlaid. There are lots of pictures of this set up...I don't think they could all be de-fretted.

I think it's safe to say that if it's a pre-2004 fretless Thumb (or any fretless Streamer) with an ebony fretboard, it's a factory fretless.
 
factory fretless, had the same fretboard on a streamer bolt on. she's a beauty!
 
Well I'm just thinking if I don't get along with the fretless then it won't be the end of the world
 
I fretted my '92 Thumb bass as I wasn't using it much as a fretless. Whilst many see this as a criminal act, it was the right decision for me and I use it a whole lot more. It's a straightforward job for most luthiers.
 
Oh well too late now sold according to Ebay, to slow.. prob best i didnt :P but still ...
