in this post, i'm going to tell you what worked well for me.
the body of my bass is colored oil finish, so it was only the neck that had to be treated. (the wood seemed dry)
there's this shop called "praktiker". they have everything you need, and they seem to have the lowest...

-The 2007 LTD : a Thumb Jazzman...
-The 25th anniversary Bass : still unknown but NOT a fortress...
-A .175 string, and, to go with it:
-The Vampyre DarkLord, a 35" scale Bolt-On vampyre...
-The Corvette Taranis, a Jazzman-pickuped...
The first to be announced on the Warwick website might not seem like much, but it's opening the door for interesting things:

I for one will be ordering one for my next bass, no doubt about it...
