Hello,
I've been away for a while. Now I'm back and would like to share a little mod that I've recently made to my trusty 1996 4-string Thumb Bolt-on.
It was factory built with EMG pick-ups. After 30 years of use I decided to replace its factory electronics for a EMG BQC-Control. I also wanted...
I decided to change 16 year old Warwick tuners to Hipshot LIC Ultralite HB6Y 3/8.
Everything fits perfectly, replacing is easy.
LIC means "licensed", and that's means -
proudly born in the USA, but manufactured in Korea.
quality is exelent, gears spins smoothly.
There's nothing to comment more...
Just bought a 2011 $$ Corvette German Nirvana Black and it's beat up. Got it relatively cheap I guess though. But was cleaning all the crud off the neck and frets today and found that 2 of the tuners are broken. So am gonna just replace them all.
Not the Warwick ones though. Saw Gotoh GB707B...
Hey!
I happen to have a small problem with one tuner of my FNA Jazzman.
Inspired by , I intend to change for these, and add a D-Tuner.
I noticed there are two references, 3/8" and 1/2".
HE6Y - 3/8'' Y Key Ultralite X-tender > Store > Hipshot Products
HE6Y - 1/2'' Y Key Ultralite X-tender...
Does anyone have any experience with or opinions of these bridges? I'm thinking of tinkering with my fretless and replacing the POS stock bridge with something a little more hefty, maybe even making it string-through.
In the same arena... Do you see any tone factors with changing the tuning...
Hip-shot - Dtuners on E and G strings
So now that i've found somewhere i can get some hipshot d tuners, i'm gonna take the plunge and get some for my SSI. By some i was thinking 2, one on the E string to drop to D quickly and on on the G string to drop to F#.
Was wondering if anyone who's...
It's in the shop. Are these now available in the custom shop? Are they cheaper than kahlers (going through the custom shop and having it installed on a custom bass), and can they bend up like kahlers?
I tryed to put a hipshot D tuner on the 96 corvette I picked up last week.
It would not work as the lever hits the G string machine head when I try to detune the E string. I haven't measured the head stock yet but it appears to be smaller then the fortress head stock as the hipshot works great...
I'm thinking about putting some of these on my BO thumb 5 string in an effort to improve the balance. My band's starting to do a lot of long function gigs lately, and the carrying this thing for 3 hours is getting to be hard work.
I was wondering if anyone here has tried any, and if they do...
Anyone used one of these things?? I picked one up on Ebay to satisfy my curiosity and am awaiting its arrival. Seems like a nifty little gimmick to me. As long as it works of course.....
