Does the Tone EQ work in passive mode as well in this model ?

I just won a Thumb BO 5 stringer on ebay for 826 euros. the bass is in mint condition en hardly used according to the seller. I cannot wait to try him when i get it. i'll be posting some pics and comment when it arrives.
