portable

I'm kind of a night owl, and like to play the bass at night; but for some reason my wife and 3 daughters don't appreciate my bass playing nearly as much at say 1 am. So, I would like to find something that I can plug my bass, my cd player or iPod, and headphones into. Something that can also...

I'm looking for a single speaker combo that's easily portable but has great sound. What are the opionions out there?? I played through the mesa boogie 1x12 scout and was very impressed...but at almost $1100 usd I want to explore my options. Thanks in advance.
