Does anyone know why the CS doesn't offer a stain or paint option for the necks of a bolt-on bass?

I removed almost all the the black paint from my old fortress masterman because wanted it natural. Now I find that some black spots don't come away and the natural maple of the body is not very nice: it's a 2 pieces joint together very different between them . So I realize it's better come back...
