muddy

Well, I got my new ampeg amp and cab and I really like the sound w/ my $$ but it is just a tad muddy. I don't remember this when I tried it out. What can I do to try to remove some of the muddiness? I thought new strings but they weren't muddy on my practice amp last week. I like the tone even...
