knobs or pots

I have a corvette $$(not rockbass) and i have an elusive but really annoying problem.when i use it with active electronics the treble and bass knobs sometimes mess with the volume. more explicitly what happens is when i raise the treble the volume raises improportionately to the basses original...

so i just put my knobs pack on (see other post) and know i noptice when i turn them i can feel them turning inside, like twisting the wires and such, this happened to my old bass and i had to have e erything re wired and i need to fix this, so please guys, help a guy out hours before he goes...
