interface

im having issue setting up my amp as an interface, used as an amp for 11 months now wanting to switch to interface since i bought a new one and when i plugged it in and and my headphones, i had no sound, nayone know how to get it running? do i need to plus the 3 pin 24v power cord connected as well?
