    Maple, Ash, and Alder tonal differences.

    What is the tonal difference between maple, ash, and alder? I notice there are no ash or alder necks (that I know of) but there are maple, ash, alder bodies.

    Alder ?? Alder I say !!!

    We discussed some months ago about this wood, and today I noticed that Alder (and some other woods as well) is listed as a wood option. Interestingly, Basswood has been removed from the list. Hmmmmm..............
