I was thinking of buying one of the PS models currently on offer at Thomann.
Then i thought, why not see if i can get a used one cheaper - or pay a bit more and get a used german model instead?

I can buy it off you, or offer a lightly played active 5 string ESP LTD B-405SM for trade and pay the difference.

    Loc: south germany

Sorry man, it looks great but as a student i'm not in position to spend 1200€ on something of dubious resale value, like a refinished warwick with various changed hardware.

Stefan, Sascha sells great basses for fair prices. Also he is very experienced with Warwick basses. I even let him pimp my Infinity NT4.

LOL! I'd pay up front without hesitating for a second if Schlobodan is involved in any deal.
    Great guy!

I have read of his reputation here, and i do not dispute that this is a great bass.

I simply say it's modified and personalized to the previous owner. He put time, effort and money into it, making it arguably better in total, but making a niche product, an unlined fretless high-quality brand bass, into an even more niche product, a refinished - and he had to drill through the finish to make the jack and straplocks accessible again, is that a german warwick quality finish? - and modded unlined fretless high quality bass.

It's probably awesome, but i need something that i can sell again if i end up finding out i hate unlined fretless basses. Or, god forbid, i find myself in a situation where i actually need money.

If I had the money I'd buy it right now. If schlobodan modified it I consider that like luthier mods, professional upgrade. If you find out it's not for you, you can always sell it on this forum back. Everybody knows Schlobodan here.

In fact, I am saving for a 5 string fretless. First thing when I have the money I'll ask Schlo if he has any for sale.

    :)

Ordered wax and fresh strings and started work on the setup. From the look of the tuner-side end of the current strings, i'd guess the original factory black labels are still on it.

I'm amazed at what comes out of this with 4 year old strings. I hope the dirt doesn't keep the funk in, in this case. Shouldn't, with roundwounds...

I'm not used to having the warwick tool for adjusting the truss rod, did that with a common allen wrench before. So i can't really judge how much force I'm using.
For now, i've got the playability from "is this a doublebass?!" to about the same height as my fretted bass. There's definitly some room for improvement, but I'll give it a night to settle for now.
