Hello! Got this bass in a trade a few months ago... didn't really consider selling it before but I have too much bass gear around. Made in Germany by Wolfgang Staab, pretty famous classical luthier involved into SKC Germany. It's from mid 80s, based on a Spector NS shape (also has the concave body). Set-in Ebony neck (yup, must be Ebony), body made of figured Maple, Bartolini pickups and Noll 2bands preamp. Schaller hardware.
It's built like a violin (Staab is a classical luthier, mainly): the neck is set for the whole depth leaving a very tin layer of Maple on the back of the body. I think the guy used a Cello back and 2 doublebass fretboards to build this bad boy. Not lightest but not a boat anchor, sounds great. When I got it it had a good quality but ugly looking purple finish, I removed that crap and applied an oil finish (pro grade). The action is medium-low, the neck feels good. I can ship worldwide, please ask for a quote sending me your postal code. Sounds great and has a killer slap tone. Strung with fresh 40-100s (stainless steel). I'm after €1000 plus shipping (€60 within Europe, a bit more outside).

Nice Spector style bass!
Unusual pickup positioning, pretty far apart. I wonder how that sounds, probably pretty versatile?

Sounds great. Somehow it has both a greap slap sound AND a nice throaty bridge pickup sound.
