I stole this one from the EBMM Forum.

Well I guess I started out with a squire P bass until the neck broke (for no reason) Then I got a Lakland skyline 4 string. Then I wanted a fretless so I tried out a warwick corvette, which I now own. (It is the first warwick I have ever played and the first fretless i have ever played =) Then my Thumb followed after I wanted a five stringer.

I started with a P-bass copy, then I bought an Ibanez, after what I bought a freteess F. Jazz bass, then a fretted one. The last 4 string was a G&L L1500 (with one pickup).
When I wanted to try a 5 strings bass, I bought an Ibanez that I sold 6 weeks after, because when I bought it, I wasn't sure about the 5, but when I knew I'll go on with the 5, I sold It to buy a Thumb BO 5, then the same in fretless. I was much more in love than I have ever been before, but it wasn't enough, so I bought the Thumb NT 5, and 2 years later the same in fretless, and one year later another fretted NT5, it's a kind of sickness...
Today, it's about 5 years I own "only" the Warwick basses mentionned and I sold all the rest with no regret.

    Let´s see.
    1: Washburn, a kind of P-bass.
2: Ibanez soundgear, it was blue.
3: Fender Jazz from the mid 70´s. Sold it to afford to buy a Gibson LesPaul. BIG mistake.
4: Musicman Stingray. Didn´t like it much, so I sold It after a couple of weeks.
5: Fender Jazz, again. But this I still own. Never lets me down.
6: Peavey Millenium 5. Awsome instrument. Still have it.
7: Warwick Streamer LX special edition. Fits me Like a glove
8: Warwick Streamer Stage One. Now I´m a happy man...

I think I forgot one or two, but hey! who´s counting.

    1. Aria Pro II 4 - Sounded like a church bell embedded in cotton, boink boink (100€).
    2. Washburn 5. Don't remember the model but it sounded great. (150 € second hand).
    3. Currently a Vette$$ 5.
    4. The future .... Thumb NT 5. The ultimate instrument, which can't be justified right now.

I can't quite remember all of them that have been through the wringer but I do remember the two that I regret selling... Of course my first Warwick, a 99 Thumb 5 sold due to job loss, and a Cort Artisan B4, sold to help get the Thumb. ~M~

What did I play before my rockbass fretless 5-er?

Easy: nothing... it's my first bass...

I did have a relatively cheap hungarian cello a while back, so you could count that...

    Here's my bass-owning life-log:

    1 - Yamaha BBN4,
passive 2nd hand -> I regret to have sold it :(
2 - Cort Artisan A6 -> My first 6string, I sold too. Wretched bridge and too heavy, but soundrd good.
3 - Ibanez BTB 406 -> Very good playability, bad attack, bad sound, nice look. Really didn't worth any till I had put the EMG extended series PU'ps.
    4 - Ibanez Xtreme 4 strings ->Frett-extracted :p a pseudo-fretless,

    I hate Ibanez now:evil:

5 - My next bass will be a Thumb 6 NT or Streamer LX 6 string... 8)

some cheapo Ibanez, then a Yamaha BBG5S (I now have two of them, they both rock pretty solidly for being intro level 5 stringers), then on to my Corvette Fretless which I sold to get my Thumb 4, then sold the THumb 4 to get my Bleached Blonde, and the picked up the Thumb 5 a few months later.

CORI 4 string (some cheap-ass $60 Fender knock-off that I played for a couple of years as my first bass when I was in grade 8 and poor)
Mid-80's Fender Jazz Bass Power Special - Was my main bass for about ten years.. Best sounding Fender I've ever played.
Fender Jazz 5 string - For about two months... Didn't like it so I sold it.
Yamaha TRB-6 Six String - Nice bass all around.
MusicMan Fretless - Liked the sound, didn't like the feel.
'00 Modulus Flea Bass - This bass just cries funk with one pluck of a string.
NS Designs CR-4 EUB - Beautiful bass, both to look at and to play.
Chapman Stick - Very interesting instrument to play.

Then I discovered the Corvette FNA Jazzman in a music store, and my money's been going toward Warwick basses ever since.
