Anyone know why this doesn't have strap locks?
Apparently they're original, normal strap buttons.

The Vampyres were made before strap locks was common. Thats the big, standard strap buttons.

How are the pickups of the Vampyre set up? Is there any sort of ghost coils or similar to block hum?
I have horrible directional interference at my location messing with the pickups (not the electronics) as i turn. Even the humbucker bass i own picks up a little bit of it; the old std corvette i own is basically unplayable unless i stay locked in place.

Alright. Working just fine for me, nice and quiet. Maybe the issue with my Corvette lies in it's passive PUs?
Rock on!

Passive pickups are a bit more noisy then active ones, but the problem you describe isn't normal behaviour for a passive pup Corvette. I fixed the hum and other interfering noise by shielding the pickup cavities and electronics compartment in my Fender and Rickenbacker basses using conductive copper tape and making sure the copper is connected with the ground wire. Those basses have pickguards though, making it very easy to shield stuff without it being visible.

Maybe you can shield your pickups using conductive shielding paint in the pickup cavities. I think this might fix our problem.

The electronics had some conductive paint in place, I've put copper tape over that in the electronics and pickup cavities and did not get any change. It's all connected to ground, I checked with a voltmeter. As i wasn't too sure about the connection from pickup cavity to ground, i went temporarily the idiot proof way of literally soldering in a little extension wire from tape to ground. No help
It's really only the pickups; i can take them out and turn them around in my hand to change the noise level from almost nothing to almost as loud as plucking strings. There is no difference in the volume of noise they detect wether they're (at the same angle to whatever causes this interference) placed inside the shielded, grounded cavity or out in the open.

If you say that can not be, maybe the PUs themselves are just messed up.

On topic bonus pic b/c it's so PRETTY.
I'll see if i can get the good cam out for better shots later this week.
