That's sick! Congrats!!Looks like it has been a while since the club had a post! Here is my new 2021 Custom Shop Vampyre NT5
More picsHello!
I came across through this set neck Vampyre from 2004, and I’ve got very reasonable offer from the seller. I was wondering if any of you guys know if it sounds different to the neck-through version and if the pickups are the active ones as the neck-through?
Lastly, I love my GPS corvette $$ thin neck, does any of you know if this bass has the same? It’s collection only and it will take me 4 hours to get to the seller, if I can save myself a long trip and disappointment it would be great

I also own a Vampyre SN 4. I love this bass and recorded many albums with it. It has a really thick sound, also depending on the amp you are using of course. The neck is D shaped I would say and definitely not the thinest but also not super thick. I think you would have no problem with playing the Vampyre neck while coming from a Corvette. The pickups do sound a bit different though because the Corvette $$ has humbuckers and the Vampyre a single coil in the neck position. If you roll the balance knob to the neck position and switch the hmbucker to single coil on your corvette you will get a very similar sound compared to the Vampyre. If your $$ Humbuckers are open pole magnets, it will probably sound a bit brighter and has a bit more attack than the Vampyre single coil in the neck position. The Corvette $$ is a bit more versatile in its sound options though. If you compare the Vampyre to the Corvette soundwise, the Vampyre has a thicker deep low end and if you play it with the humbucker on the bridge as a single coil it sounds very biting.Thank you @steembass for your input.
Does anyone know about the thickness of the neck by any chance?
Thank you
I also would say: typical 2003 ovangcol neck shape, D shape, fat neck.Thank you @steembass for your input.

Your video reminds me of good times I had last year helping my friends with their gig. I was actually really happy with my tech21 VT bass DI sansamp I’ve used straight to PAHi! Vampyre SN 5-owner here. If the 4-string is made in same spirit as the 5`er, it`s pretty fat yeah, but the sound is excellent. I use mine with an Ashdown-amp and Warwick cabs, and in live events every sound engineer says "it`s the tightes bass sound in town". It`s a unique piece of W-history too.
Edit: you can also check my posts in the "Vampyre-action inside" with live sound.

It was arranged a Coverband-festival last weekend, and we blasted through some Metallica-tunes! Here`s a clip with the Vamp, an Ampeg and the Zoom MS-60B (with Bass Distortion):forum.warwickforum.com
Hi! Is it a slight improvement or a big deal? I've picked up RB Vampyre recently and after just one session I can say that I really have to fight this bass like no other before - neck dive is just crazy. I like the sound tho.ergonomics of a Vampyre could be improved if you move the upper strap holder to the tip of the upper body horn..
imho: a big deal…at least with my SN5 VampyreHi! Is it a slight improvement or a big deal? I've picked up RB Vampyre recently and after just one session I can say that I really have to fight this bass like no other before - neck dive is just crazy. I like the sound tho.
Any chance you can make a photo? Suddenly I realized I'm not sure if it needs to be still behind the horn just closer to the tip or drilled into the horn tip literally like on an average bass, but in this case I'm still a bit perplexedimho: a big deal…at least with my SN5 Vampyre
just into the horn tip…I do not have a photo…bass sold about 9 years ago, sorryAny chance you can make a photo? Because those designs look cool AF! I mean, that freaking vampyre design haunted me since the high school. But seriously, I did not expect it to be THAT uncomfortable . Going to perform the horn surgery tomorrow and if it won't help, It'll be a real deal breaker despite great sound and looks I appreciate your input, thx a lot!…like on average bass, yes…no clue why Warwick makes such designs ..with strap locks positioned like on an average bass it would have been one of the most comfortable basses
Got the job done - the bass is well balanced now, amazing! Thanks again!…like on average bass, yes…no clue why Warwick makes such designs ..with strap locks positioned like on an average bass it would have been one of the most comfortable basses
