that sounds pretty rad. as for price, that really depends on where you live what the cost will be.

I'm not sure that I understand:
You want red inlays, as in red light inlays?

If it's that, based on the german pricelist, your options would get the price at :

3850 Euros, which would be somewhere around 5500 USD, but that's not taking into account the import upcharge (or the dealer downcharge, for that matter...), it's basically a very rough ballpark figure...

Price on the Katana keeps going down over here  All maple Katana NT5 $899. Yours sounds killer though, I like the black hardware idea. Add DR black beauties and it's a wrap.

And...just to add, Katanas look best as 5-stringer, since the body is so big.

Yes, no mistake. It started at $2700, a few months later $2200, then $1800 then $899. GC springfield NJ. Right now they have a Corvette FNA Jazzman for $899 they said I could leave with it for $825 but I already have one.

i saw a vampyre on the costume shop with red bass cleff inlays. i really don't like five strings, im comfortable with them, i just don't like them. i feel like i have 10 extra pounds on me with that one string. its annoying

Yeah! I saw that also... I saw a Katana at GC for $1,100 ish...

Although I have my heart set on getting another thumb nt... Possibly a 7 string... Even though the weight of my 6 is killing me after an hour or so... I'll still own one some day :D

I feel there might be some bad news coming your way..............

Even though the price of a standard Katana NT can be very low, I assume it's the price of stock Katanas that shops have. If you order a CS Katana, you most likely will be paying the full base price plus CS option upcharge. This means that the standard Katana alone will cost you like 3000 US $..................You really want a CS Katana NT in that case...........?? :?

You are right Thirdthumb. These "cheap" prices are because that same Katana left and was returned at least 3 times so they put it on special clearance. The Jazzman unfortunately has a warped neck on the B string side. This makes the 4th one I've seen with the same problem :? I check mine all the time and it's fine...so far.

thanks alot JanVanHove, thats exactly what i saw in my head. i was thinking about adding a kahler trem too, but its so beutiful!!!!

as far as price goes, i was expecting to pay around 2000-2500. i would be ordering from a guitar center, so i figured they would drop the price some.

do cs come with a case? or just the bag? or anything?

also, is there any indication that it is custom shop besides my own "trusted" word? any inlay or CS on the head stock, anything?

ugh, dont order from Guitar Center, PLEASE! They are good for buying stock, run of the mill equipment. Order your bass from Bass Central in Florida, they will give you great customer service, they will make sure you get everything you want and that the order is exactly as you have planned in your head.

When its time for my CS Thumb bass, I will be ordering from them....

You will get at least a Premium gig bag with your CS instrument, and it will come with a certificate attesting it's Custom shop nature, and the serial number printed on the headstock will also reflect it...

ok, now i have some playability questions.
like i said, i was thinking about getting the TJ pickup, so, how does that sound? and a kahler tremelo. ill probably change my mind 50 times befor i actually order this thing.

does anyone have a bass similar to this (ash back maple top:vampyre) and would be able to make a youtube video so i can hear it?

the only warwick instrument im really going off of is my corvette, so i don't know how warwick does with these woods. describing feel and tone (besides: awesome, good, amazing, etc.) would be great.
