ARG, so it finally happened. The flimsy catch on the battery compartment door has broken on my 1995 Thumb.

This is the compartment that houses the 3(!) 9v batteries that power the factory installed neck leds. I'm currently using a rather unseemly strip of gaffer tape to keep the batteries from spilling out onto the stage whenever I pay her live. The model is a 95 5string Thumb (FL) and the case measurements of the box are about 65mmx65mm.

Anyone else out there had this problem and If so, does anyone know where a vintage or modern replacement part might be obtained?

Cheers!

‚size-wise‘ it is that one?

some years ago I faced that issue with the 1x9V battery compartement. I needed to buy the whole spare part (i.e. the complete compartement) in order to replace just the door…🙄

Thank you steembass, I feel your pain. Yes, the measurements look good. On closer inspection of the box in my bass, it appears to be the two battery box with the bottom cut out, the sides shaved down and there is barely any room for the three 9v to fit in. I just ordered this same (box you linked) from Banzai music and at half the price. I'll let you know if it fits / how it all turns out. Many thanks.
