2nd custom shop NT7 fretless model will be ready soon.

Oh my...looking forward to seeing that! Can you share some preliminary specs? I'm guessing it will have a snakewood fingerboard??? I thought I read somewhere that you were interested in changing one of your NT6 fingerboards to snakewood. :)

Seriously, JPT? A second Thumb NT7? Did you really need to make me more jealous of your bass collection? :p

Just kidding, of course. I'm curious what it will sound like.

Do you always play seven string basses now, or do you still play six string basses as well?

yes. the NT 6 with fretless palisander fingerboard (1990) was replaced by an NT 6 fretless with Asian ebony fingerboard (1989)

Woah, nice collection man!

Are those small lines on the side of the fretboards a custom shop option, or an aftermarket thing you have had done?

the fingerboards are on two different basses so this is somewhat biased. the 2017 model clearly produces a warmer hi-end compared with the 2011 model. also the difference in wood structure of both ebony fingerboards. in short, many changes over the years 1989 - 2017, all basses have their own sound, body- and neck shape.
