I have one question on the Nobby Meidel:
Given the exposure of the fragile tuners, does anyone of you guys have a tip on which case (mark) could be used best for transport?? Could fit a flight case, but they are quite heavy.
My one came naked.
Yeah, the tuners are very exposed and prone to damage. I have the original grey bag it came in, though I've also seen one being sold together with the grey bag and the 1st ever flight case Warwick used...the orange one. Makes me think that HP and crew were using both out of the factory, for a while at least.
Check out the case @Chris90 has, a few posts above. Smaller case with a custom fit insert. You could also order some high density foam, for the case you have yours in. That way you could leave it in a hard case, without the full flight case weight.
As an example, I put new foam in my JD Thumb's original orange case a little while ago. Came out great. "Firm" foam on the bottom, "regular" foam in the lid. The trick for cutting it perfect, are those cheap electronic meat carving knives. 10€ or so. As for the grey foam, you can order it through specialty shops online. Fairly cheap.
