Welcome to the club! I have to admit that when I see passive MEC pickups, first thought I have is "BARTOLINIIIIIIII"
Well, maybe I just planted a seed :)

    Thanks Florin
You are certainly right about the pickups but I have to say I’m very happy with the sound of the bass but who knows, maybe one day...

Thanks man. She was a bit battered and beat when I got her, also with passive pickups. This is after a bit of a makeover.

I got to play a Corvette 'Rock Bass(?)' 6 string yesterday
I can't believe that little $ gets you so much Bass. Made in China.
Back when I was a boy entry level instruments were absolute Barry Crockers. You needed the strength of Harley Race just to fret a note.
Not sure on its B string to be fair but extremely well made instrument IMO.

I hereby give you my blessing to at some point try a real Warwick too, even (or especially) a used one. Amen. :)

Despite living in NZ we actually get to play Warwickshire over here as the main musical instrument retail dealer is big on them

A student of mine had a passive Corvette (J/J) which was good
I liked a Fortress I played a long time back
Didn't like DoubleBuck or Thumb I tried.

Always wanted a go on a Fortress Flashback 5 with a 2-TeK bridge

I figured eff it. I've prioritize work and school forever it seems and realizing I don't want to work harder to get ahead so I can work more! I'm good where I am!

I am in my early 40s now and soon will finish my 2nd masters degree...time to learn a skill I can enjoy for a lifetime.

I have Wanted to learn forever and really excited to learn!

And second: you decided to collect Warwicks. Great decision! You should know nobody owns just one Wick. But for the next weeks just enjoy your CorFATte! ;)

It has been a LOOONG time since I've been on the forums, but after having sold my Last Corvette $$ last year, I missed my bass, so I splurged and bought a 2009 Corvette $$ LTD number 25 of 300. Unfortunately, she has been neglected and it's up to me to get her back to her original self. Came from a saltwater heavy environment so half the hardware is corroded, and after inspection, has a crack between the bridge pickup and bridge cavity on the Olivewood top. She'll be a minor project, but a worthy one at that.

Just a quick question while I'm sitting at work....I have a 2009 Corvette $$ LTD Edition with a Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard, Mahogany body and Olivewood top. It says it has the "Natural Satin" finish. Should I be waxing the body or is it sealed? What about the maple neck? I would assume since it's maple that it is sealed as well...but I need some advice. Bought this bass used about a month ago.

No wax needed, the wood is sealed. I use a cloth dampened in isopropyl alcohol, no water marks and fast drying.
