    Not really.
I had problems with the original ovangkol neck and I was really lucky I found a luthier who had a rockbass maple neck he had put a new fretless fretboard in. With inlays.

Turns out years ago he was asked to turn a rockbass neck into fretless but the guy never showed up to pay and get the bass back.

So we tried it and the neck fitted perfectly. He got paid and I got a new neck.

Never liked the inlays too much, and I would have liked to have a lined fretless to begin with, but sometimes you just get what you get, so...

Still struggling with intonation with this one, but I really love the tones I get.
And it is a hell of a bass.

My dream is to be able to gig with this fretless. We'll see :)

Btw this horn extension just works. Direct replacement, easy to change, cheap, and it works. Brilliant.

It changes the looks of the bass though, but I don't really care that much, too many two and a half hours gigs with pain in my wrist...

Ahhh yes, the joy and wonders of zero percent plastic. The bankers seem to be getting a little desperate. They made me an offer I could not refuse......2% up front and then 0% for 13 months. With REAL inflation running at least 7%, it's like they paid me to take their money! Add to that the crazy deal I got from Randy at The Bass Place, $2600 USD shipped, and all I could say was......SOLD!!!:D
Yep, it's black walnut burl on a black korina body. It is pretty amazing I must say. Without a doubt the easiest playing bass I have ever had my grubby paws on. The Warwick site says it is a natural satin finish. Does that mean it's sealed and I should use a cleaner/polish on it, or would the bee's wax paste be the thing to use? I thought I saw somewhere that the satin finish was a sealed finish, but I can't seem to find that info now. I have grown to prefer the natural wood finishes, but the burl is maybe too fragile for that? I really am not well informed on this topic I'm afraid.

You might want to check this site out:

Effortless Intonation - How To Play Bass In Tune Automatically

I am just getting started on an EUB. The sucker has no markers.........at all. If you get on the site's mailing list he will send you some goodies which apparently include some "drone" tones. They are constant note pitches, that sound like they are being played with a bow, and you can play along to find the correct intonation. He explains it better in the video and it sounded like a good practice tool to me. I just signed up on his mailing list and haven't actually tried it yet.

Smokin' deal on the LTD. Nice! I don't doubt it...gotta be a joy to play.

Yeah, I know with most burls that have noticeable intrusions, pits and such, they cant use wax for protective reasons (and wax build up in the pits), so they go with the satin finish. There are some exceptions, such as Andrew's CS Walnut burl Thumb, that he had done in wax if I recall correctly. Yours certainly looks totally smooth, with no burl pits, so it seems like with his, they probably could have gone with beeswax...but decided to go satin.

Not sure what the best way to care for a satin finish is...or if Warwick suggests a certain product. Though I'm about to get some of this stuff for my Ibanez SR1200 that has a matte finish....

I've been using their F1 fretboard oil for years and I love it and highly recommend it. This company Nomad is good about not using any lemon, or waxes...or anything that might not be good for your baby. Check em out. All their stuff is on Amazon.

Thanks for the useful info Hoggles. The top on this bass does in fact have a few small pits scattered across the surface. They are hard to see unless you angle the light to highlight them. So, you are spot on there.:)

This is my little green 1999 Corvette Standard. I've had this from new and since then two Fenders and several other basses have come and gone but I will take this to the grave with me. Everything is stock and to be honest I wouldn't change a thing. Before buying this I had always been a Fender Jazz man, but when I picked this up I think I had decided to buy it even before I had plugged it in.

What would make my life complete would be an identical fretless... but it has to be green :)

Fretless Corvette STD from 2007 with what seems to be tigerstripe ebony. Only things lacking are the mismatching straplocks and the potmeters are very loose (common warwick thing)

Wow, G. Beauty! Some of the nicest grain I've ever seen on a "standard" Vette, fb & body. Master Reserve quality.

Is that a "normal" Corvette STD? Looks like someone choose that wood wisely.

    Congrats.

I have no idea, it's a 2007 and it already has tigerstripe ebony.
Serial number says its a normal one.

This little fella arrived last week. I have to say I was not so pleased with it to start with, its got a much fatter neck than any Warwick I have ever played, not uncomfortable just chunkier. Its also taken quite a while to find the kind of tones I want from it but it is growing on me the more I play it and I love the look of it. I thinks its going to fill the something different gap between the Thumb and the standard Corvette... a grower I think
