Jazz guitarist Billy Lorento was the very first signature artist for Framus. Billy later be-
came Bill Lawrence, famed electric guitar pickup designer. The first collaboration for
Framus and Billy Lorento was the 5/120 Billy Lorento guitar first built in 1953. Today,
Framus pays homage to this memorable mutual effort with the release of the new
Framus Vintage 5/120 Billy Lorento Guitar.
The Framus Vintage 5/120 Billy Lorento Jazz Guitar takes it cues from the original guitar:
Set neck construction, laminated spruce top and laminated AAA flamed maple back
and sides. The mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and block cream pearl in-
lays composed of a celluloid-colored material replicate the look that made the Lorento
famous.
The Framus Vintage Single Coil (neck and bridge) pickups and passive Framus Vintage
electronics recall the tone and style that was popular in the 1950s. The chrome plated
metal pickguard and rosewood bridge with Framus vintage tailpiece makes this guitar
truly retro.
Made in Korea, this guitar is available in right handed version only and comes in
Blackrose High Polish, Cherry Sunburst, or Black High Polish Finishes.
