The cheapest price I could find for that on the web is 2380 €, so about $ 3045.

I doubt you'll find it for any lower than $ 3500 in the U.S. or Canada, that is, if you find it at all. Katanas are very rare outside of Europe. You'd have to order it via a store.

    Good luck!

Call bass central. www.basscentral.com , and see what they can do for you. That would make an awesome gift...

Since a few months I have the same exact Katana. Retailprice was 3095 euro including flightcase. Normal would be a 15% discount, at least here in Holland. BTW it's a gorgeous bass!

    Hahahah awesome. :D.

    To hila,

Prices may vary A LOT depending on what country you are at and what dealer you decide to use, that's why it's so hard to find prices online. As suggested before, I think you're best bet is contacting the guys at Bass Central: [email protected] and letting them know exactly what you're looking for, I promise you won't be disappointed on these guys.

I'd suggest checking out a Long and McQuade's music store, if there is one near you. They are one of the few stores in Canada that I know that brings in Warwicks on a regular basis. I got a great deal on my FNA Jazzman there, and you can avoid some of the border fees.

Oliver is definitely correct about Bass Central! They'll always give you a great deal! Just be aware of the hidden costs though... If you buy it from bass central (or anywhere else outside Canada), you will also have to pay duty, border fees, and GST... You have no provincial sales tax so that helps! When I was living in Canada I ordered a Chapman Stick and it costs me an extra $600 CDN to bring it into Canada, which included all the fees plus the 8% Ontario sales tax. The Stick was $2,200 US, which at the time converted to around $2,800 CDN.

I went to Long and McQuade in Toronto today, they had a Streamer Stage-1 4 string, Thumb Bolt-on fretless 4 string, Thumb Bolt-on 6 string & 5 string, FNA 5 string (Wenge Neck sounded REALLY evil), Double buck four string(Pretty nice, but not impressed), Streamer stage-2 5 string(The weight makes me happy), and a Dolphin 4 string Set neck.
Out of all the Warwicks they had, my favourite was the fretless Thumb, I kinda want to trade my CUstom Streamer for it, it sounded so good...

    My thoughts exactly Mats.

He has got to be one lucky man to have a girlfriend like that.

A frined of mine recieved a custom shop Fender Telecaster from his girlfriend for his 50th birthday, along with a full blown party in a rented hall featuring two blues bands & catered food. Total tab - about $5,500.00 U.S.

You treasure a woman like that.

Not to gloat, but my wife bought me a new Streamer Stage II 5-string. She also never complains when I buy a bass. :D

My wife doesn't complain either, but that's because I don't tell her when I buy a new bass!

Cloning might be the ticket, Mats. Especially if Warwick picks up the costs, which they could eventually recover from the increased sales of their instruments!

Just make sure to clone the original and not a copy. When making a copy of a copy it doesn't always come out like the original, and someone may end up getting fenders for gifts...

    Not to worry.

If we can get Hans-Peter in on the act he will make double-damn sure each and every one of us gets the same degree of high quality that we have come to expect!
