Well, most people go for the Stage I or Stage II, thinking those basses already have the "Zender tone," but the truth is, the Zender tone is from Stu's heart, hands, and fingers... You can't build that into a bass!

His amps played a great role as well... To me the "perfect" Zender tone is:

Streamer Stage 1 (mostly with the P pickup) + light gauge strings + strong attack + Trace Elliot amps...

Don't know why... but I can imagine it looking a lot like Lex's White Streamer with the LEDs...

    Just a feeling I've got.

    LOL

I would suggest it will be something that is more relevant to his current gigs... e.g. something with vintage vibe, like a Star Bass II

Wouldn't it be cool if he got it looking like this?

    Was thinking about this...
I know he's been playing all passive basses, Fender Precisions and more recently a Gibson Les Paul bass.
I reckon a vintage twist on a stock Warwick would rock!

Say a simple natural wood, slab bodied Streamer, Bolt-On Neck, passive of course, maybe a single Precision pickup, or a Darkstar or the MEC equivalent would be in order.
    A nice simple workhorse bass.

Any of you photoshop artistes fancy getting on that? ;)

    Cheers,
    Eude

According to Stuart's website, there's going to be two signature basses. One,a full blown pro instrument & the other,a more affordable version.Maybe a Rockbass or BO version.
It could well be a limited run, like the Jack Bruce CRB,& if there's overwhelming demand,it could become a production run.If so,start saving now so you can put in your oder when the time comes coz I'd say it's going to be very popular.Stuart has put an entire generation of bassists onto Warwick,as well as influenced countless people to take up the bass.
I know he was a big factor in my descision to buy a Warwick.

If it ends up being a SS1 and there's a five string version then I'm getting one. A pro one for sure.

I'd be all up for that! Supporting Warwick, AND honoring Stu, all in one action!
