The Streamer I bought came with some strings I really like. I'd like to know what they are so I can buy a fresh set.

    B, E, and A strings are tapered.

    Thanks :)

I 'll take a wild guess and say they are Ken Smith strings. Nah, honestly I don't have a clue. I am assuming the previous owner has no clue either?

Bought it from a shop. The strings were on it when they got it. He did not know.

I know it would be a bit of a long shot and also a bit of hassle, but why don't you mail the pics to some string companys to see if they can ID them.

Dunno if t helps but having the core expose to over the saddle has been called "piano string winding" or something similar to that. I recon Rotosound does that, they also silk wind the tops so its a clue at least.

Thanks. I'll see if I can find some pics of Rotosound strings.

I also noticed the D string is tapered, too.

Anyway, I believe I found out what they are. Dean Markley SR2000 strings.

Help Me ID this exposed core string - TalkBass Forums

Both ends look identical to the strings I have. Now to measure and see what gauge are on mine. They are one of the medium gauges.
