Hi there,

I recently acquired a Streamer Stage II 5 strings, and I noticed that sound were saturating when I play loud. The saturation disappears if I cut the preamp or if I don't push the volume nob to the max. This is letting me think that the problem comes from the preamp. I opened the bass and I noticed that there is a small potentiometer on the board. I wonder if it could be a gain control. As I don't want to worsen the situation, I need some insight from you guys! Any clu?

Hello there, and welcome aboard.

Have you replaced the 9V battery with a NEW one?

Good job! I was about to say there's a gain trimpot that regulates the signal coming from the pickups into the pre but you already discovered it.
