    Hey all,
Steve Bailey here... a "new" and Proud Warwick Artist!!! (I say "new", but have owned warwicks since 1992. Check out my 12 string (2x6) Warwick on the Jethro Tull "Roots to Branches CD from 1996)
I am looking forward to being in Europe this month with Victor Wooten and JD Blair. I am primarily going out to produce a series of live multitrack recordings of the shows, for a future release on VIX RECORDS.
BUT... I am not going anywhere without my new Warwick Steve Bailey bass... and will probably be doing some playing as well!!
So if you are in the neighborhood of the tour, from the 5th of May (Milan) till the 12th (Aschaffenburg), come on out and see the new bass in action. I would love to say hey to fellow Warwick players!
Check victorwooten.com for all the tour locations. I will be on the ones below!!

AND, if time permits I am going to keep a little blog of the tour in this thread. Peace, steve

    Awesomeness!
Sadly the gigs are too far off for me to come visit.
Have a good time Steve! (I bet you will)

I love you new sig model btw, looks more sleek 'n sexy (far less bulky) then the previous one and no doubt its tone will be very interesting. How's the fingerboard compared to ebony?

    Cheers, Marco

    Welcome to our forum Steve.
I'm a long time fan of your work.
When I saw a video of you & Victor Wooten raffling off an Alien fretless I just knew it was only a matter of time before you announced you joined the Warwick family. All we need now is for VW to follow suit & I'll spontaineously combust.
    Cheers mate.

    Day 1.....

Ok... sat next to a guy on the plane who farted the whole way!! In Business Class! Not a good way to start. Never said a word on the flight until the end.. and found out he is a preacher. I had about all of his sermon I could take.
Just arrived at the hotel... with much excess baggage. Cables, Splitters, Interfaces, Racks, etc...... oh yes, and a bass (with a snakewood f-board.) ;-)
Gonna get some rest while waiting for Vic and the gang to arrive and head over to soundcheck.
Had to bring an extra 100 lbs of cables because all that we had shipped over are stuck in customs... paperwork issue... Italy... coincidence.... i think not!! hahhahha , later

Ouch. That kind of person in a any close quarters situation (plane, bus etc) is not the most pleaseant, especially if its a long flight!
At least they did not check you baggage from top to bottom to investigate whether you used your bass case for some sort of doomsday device :)
Hope your gigs go better than the traveling so far!

    Day one....

OK... got through the first night of recording. Vic, as usual was amazing! For those of you who have not heard JD Blair live.. well you must. One of the most amazing drummers, performers, and entertainers, ever!!
I got to give my new Warwick it's first "tour gig".... when I took it out of the case, Vic says "WOW... i like that fingerboard, what is it?" When I said Snakewood, he was curious if it was a laminate or something. Nope! it is real wood... real hard wood. Great sustain.
Vic invited me up to play and we, as usual, just started playing.... i can't even remember what we did because it was mostly improvising. We stuck in "Cool Groove" from the Bass Extremes :To Serve Man: cd, and Sonny (the first song we ever played together, about 20 years ago).
If the rest of the nights are anything like the first night, this is going to be some great recording.
JD and Vic are the most amazing DUO I have ever heard! absolutely!!
Also, there were some Warwick players in the house.
Fabricio, a Warwick 6 string fretless player... well his wife was there. He must have had a gig. Very sweet person, she was, and even showed me a picture of him and his warwick THUMB 6 string fretless.
Sorry I was so busy making sure that the recording levels were good, that I did not have a chance to take pics. Hopefully I will tonight!. Till then, steve
