Anyone seen this yet:
http://www.warwick.de/modules/custo...ID=4102&modell=Triumpf E-Upright&page=0&cl=EN

That is unique to say the least! Aluminim board with fret lines ( although i cant pick them out in the pics) and a red chrome finish!

So what do you recon? genious or madness? would you? The more i look at it the more i dig it. particulalrly the body, not sure about the metal board. should have gone snakewood IMHO .

Any chance we can see more pics of this? the ones on the gallery look a bit over-lit and its hard to make out the board and body as everyuthing so so SHINY.

Augie, just saw it myself...I really like it! A side note on the possibility of a Triumph and snakewood...I inquired with the CS about doing a Triumph with a snakewood fingerboard awhile back, and was told that they can't do it, due to the tight radius. Apparently (because snakewood is so hard) it was cracking when they had tested the possibility. :)

Genious. Among the best fretless basses I have ever heard is a model by Le Fay (sorry Warwick) which also has the aluminium fingerboard. This triumph will sound like a dream.

I saw this on Andy Irvine's Facebook profile - I'm on the fence. It looks like a million bucks, but I wonder how the metal strings will fare against a metal fingerboard... you can't exactly plane a metal fingerboard.

The fact that it's a laquered fingerboard isn't helping either.

You can plane aluminium, it's pretty soft. About the bass, not my cup of tea but very interesting nevertheless.
