I've literally never owned any Wicks, and have no plans to own one any time soon. Not that I'd be against it. ;)

There are a couple of us here. We came aboard during a brief period where the Warwick forum was just a general bass forum called Bass Arena or something. When they went back to being a Warwick forum, I decided to keep hanging out here because I like the people.

Though being a newbie, I don't think the forum is exclusively for wick owners; of course there's a bit of GAS teasing ....
I have followed the forum for quite a while, and only joined last year. To my benefit I drew a lot of know-how from the forum before deciding to by one, and I also liked the way of communicating here.

This indeed is a „no bullshit“ forum. And any bass or guitar players are welcome. I owned/own Fenders, LTD, Cort, Ortega, Ibanez, Rickenbacker. Most of us do also own different brands. But I’m glad that Warwick decided to renew their approval. Because at no other place you find so much knowledge about Warwick basses. Still: the majority of the topics are about general topics.

That is one hell of "only one" Wick though :)

It is by no coincidence that it takes center stage. :D

I mostly play my Zon basses, I think they sound better than Warwicks for what I do and are in the middle of the spectrum between Warwick on the modern side and the Ric plus hyperjazz on the classic side. Zons are kinda jacks of all trades but with all the pros that come with higher end basses, and I absolutely love carbon necks so much that I consider wood a nice second choice.

Rockbass Streamer fretless from 2012 in metallic red. It will be interesting to compare it with the „real“ Wicks!

    Ooh! interesting indeed.

It never became clear to me what the big differences are between rockbass and german warwick electronics, pickups, hardware.

Prepare for disappointment. Good value for money if you are starting out but miles away from a German wick.

It‘s already at my guitar tech. Bad shielding. Also the edges of the fret board are sharp, maybe I let them smoothen. The tone knobs are not running that even. But also one good impression: it sings! Resonate body. The finish is very nice. The bass looks as new.

Korean pro series also had those sharp edges.

So! Added gold tone knobs with black domes. Gives the look in total a better balance imo. Bought them directly in the Warwick shop.

Did you apply The Siks graphic, or was that a custom job too? Either way, I think it looks killer!

These are our car stickers. One day I realized that it would perfectly fit on the Thumb body. Decision made. Since it is the material that they use for car wrapping the body color should be safe.
