    tube heat
    180
    tube bias...........forever

    i can live with that.

yeah mine had an issue where it would bias then not pass audio and would show zero voltage to tubes. I found that from the power transformer into the board one of the pins was black from lots of current over time. I got it hard wired and its been mint ever since. It does say tube failure a lot but I think it says failure if the tube is too far from its partner. (matched) I got mine for just over a grand also but it had obviously been dropped which is why i got a custom sleeve made. I run mine in HD mode all the time which it most likely why it eats tubes for breakfast ha ha. Love the tone though and everyone comments on how good it sounds. Ever played a guitar through yours? its amazing,
my guitarist still remembers that day ha ha

This is my basic rig, 1x15 with a 2.5 XL (2 10" and 1 5"). I also have a full 4 x 10 that Ioriginally used, but would take whichever was needed for the gig. Head is a Hartke HA2000

EQ setting is for a P bass BTW. Cut subs, raise lows, raise trebs more.A P bass lacks highs and lows.
With W basses you can simply switch the EQ off.

Would love to do a shoot out with this vs my markbass classic 300, I was under the impression that the mark bass was the best sounding bass amp on the planet!

This pic led to discussions on Bassic. Started by a guy who had his amp drowned in beer. A Quadravalve btw.

I was a hardcore Gallien-Krueger man for years, but when I decided I needed more firepower, my comparison shopping lead me to Carvin. The Carvin BX500 had essentially the same specs as the GK MB500, but with more features, for less money. I was already a huge fan of their basses, so I decided to go for it. I like it, but don't love it. Someday I want to return to GK, but for now, this is what I can afford. (You can see I've got a couple of old GK 400RBs on the shelf to the right). I do like the cabs well enough, but would love to put a GK head up top again someday. These cabs are 4 ohms each, though, which limits my choices pretty severely.

    My gig rig:

For practice, and smaller gigs such as coffee shops, I've still got my GK MB115:

I just picked up a Hellborg high cab today. Looking to replace my Henry 8x8 which I have not gelled with. Something in the tweeter I don't like and its a bit big.

I love my other hellborg cabs so hoping the high cab is the same but with a different flavour to go with my Valve amp.

I'd thought recently about moving my Quad VI on as I hadn't used it much.
Played it last night. Came to my senses. Huge sounding unique amp, whilst having tight bottom end and smooth tops.

Got my *big rig (relatively speaking) out for a gig on Thursday. all 12 people who attended at 10:30pm mixed genre show on a Thursday were in for a tone treat

That DSM Noisemaker Cabsim is un'f***ing believably good.

I was worried that 300 tube watts wouldn't be enough. Wrong. So wrong.

Here is my latest purchase for home use and recording as my gigging days are now well and truly over. Sat on top of my Micro VR is a TC Electronic BH250 which is a great little micro for recording at home, it comes with TC Electronic's Toneprint application which lets me beam Drive, Flanger, Chorus, Compression, Octaver etc tones straight into the amp using a mobile app beamed through my pickups. There is a good number of tones to use which include combined tones that honestly don't sound crappy and cheap.........I like it!
