Hi everyone
I recently purchase the Onboard Preamp 4knob version to upgrade the current preamp I have on my bass. There is no issue at the first place and I can use the preamp normally.

However, after I change the battery, there is no sound coming out on the active mode. But using passive mode (VTC pulled up), the sound produced normally. I check with the local Luthier (where I install the preamp before), they cannot find any burn mark etc on the board.

I am waiting for them to send a picture and videos so I can posted here. In the meantime, anyone have any idea where is the issue and what should I recommend them to check? (aside from the battery connection and the input jack since they already double check on this)

Hello and welcome to the forum!

That sounds odd. Who installed it? Was it you or the luthier?

Hm, ok. Well, the best people to sort it out would be the luthier. I would wait until they come back with more info. It is odd that it stopped working when the battery was replaced..

No option really. They also dont know what's wrong. If I cant figure it out, guess im stuck with passive mode always. The preamp already too expensive for me

I already send email to h.p.wilfer warwick and they said "the active parts of the electronics did work well just before, we assume that there is no real big technical issue with the assembly at all."

So I guess thats a no.

This is the video sent by my luthier

Hmm. It is odd that it was working before you changed the battery, but not after. Has the luthier checked if there is any current being delivered from the battery to the preamp ?

Let me ask around but they said before that there is no issue with battery connection. But even though there is no current, wouldn't it still make sound but weak?

Case close, still not sure where the issue is but Warwick send me a replacement. Hopefully it arrives and works. Thanks for answering my questions.
