HI all. I’ve recently got hold of a Pro Tube IX of and I think that it has a bit of a problem. Using it at home (not very loud but not quiet) certain notes when played seem compressed. The limiter is off BTW. When playing A through to B on the E string it sounds like the speaker cant take it. Now I have tried this with another amp (SVT 4 Pro) and I cannot emulate the problem, even at greater volume and more bass.
Both amps put out about the same power into the cab, 450w into 4ohms and on all other notes do a great job but I cannot get the Warwick to play ball on this. Are there any known issues with these amps? BTW it’s the same on both tube and solid state. Help - please! Any ideas?

The tubes might need changing but i seem to have the problem on the solid state side of the amp as well. Its not as if the preamp gain is clipping or any thing like that. I seems that the amp cant handle the frequencies. - Very strange...
