Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get the plastic tuner inserts found in the older thumbs? By this, I'm refering to the rings around the tuners on the headstock. These were used on Thumb basses up until '88 (at least, I've never seen an '89> with them). Does Warwick still supply them? One of my 80's thumbs (an '86) needs them replaced. I just wrote them, but maybe someone here can answer my question before they do. Thank you.

Hi Revolver,

I had the same problem, but didnt even try to find replacement parts, the plastic mounting doesnt look "mechanicaly" right to me. Instead I machined four alloy inserts to replace the plastic ones. Was not easy because of the drill angle. Here they are :

Finally!!! I really thought this problem would've been discussed already! ha ha ha!!!

Anyway, the forum wins! Warwick hasn't replied yet.

Those look really good. I already contemplated the possibility of having to create my own (probably out of wood, since it would be a tad easier for me), but wanted to know if you could still get them.

It would very helpful, of course, if you could give me some insight on how you made them. I'd really appreciate it.

vampyre dark lord with plastic inserts? Somehow I think you are a bit confused about what we are talking about here. Those inserts were only used on the early thumbs.

I just saw you posts on this thread which I started some time ago (hadn't checked out the forum in a while), and I am definitely interested in buying 8 (for two vintage thumbs 4str.) of them if you still have them. They look very well made. Please let me know if you still have some available. Thank you.
