Concerts of 100 participants are forbidden no in Bavaria, we' ll see if we can play on the 3th of april...

Our festival gig in may is with more than 1000 participants, it depends on if the Wuhan Virus is summer resistent or not.

A friend of mine works at 013, a concert hall in the city that has the most corona cases.
She lost her job, because they canceled all the gigs up until the end of the month, and most likely more to come.

THAT should be illegal... Most countries are introducing stimulus packages specifically to avoid that....

Brussels is closed down from midnight. Teleworking the next 2 weeks, but I reckon this could extend. Less time for commuting, more time to play...
But, have to be careful with the elderly!

My 4 gigs left in march are cancelled. I was working organizing an event due to the end of the month and was cancelled too.

Government just declared "state of alarm" in all the country and Madrid city looks like out from a ghost city.

    Strange days.

Hope you all stay safe, and turn off the TV.

Today two times I had some talk to people who all over sudden shook their heads like trying to wake up. It’s all that strange. One day you surmise what could be coming or not, the next day it already happens. So weird!

A little comic relief for you all. Everyone I know says I need to make a video of this. They say it could even go viral (see what I did there?)

(to the tune of "My Sharona")

Ooh I feel a little off
    Little off
Now I've got a little cough
    It's Corona!

Germs are coming on the breeze
    Make you sneeze
    Oh Jesus tell me please
    It's not Corona!

When I called the doc, I said "doc,
    When can I be seen?"
He said "I'm sorry sir, but you've
    Got to stay in quarantine"

Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Whooo!!!
    Because you've got Corona!

I went to the grocery store
    Such a chore
But I've got to buy some more
    Toilet paper!

But you know when I got there
    Shelves were bare
    Couldn't find it anywhere
    Toilet paper!

I'll try to have compassion and be kind
    But I'll tell you what:
A chest infection shouldn't mean that
No one else can wipe their butt

Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Whooo!!!
    D-d-d-damn Corona!

I'm working from home starting Monday. The trick is to delay the peak of max cases per day as much as possible. If governments and people do not take drastic measures early, after an initial "linear" stage, the thing booms fast and then it's too late. The health care system can not handle the simultaneous cases and there's people dying that could have been saved. Mortality rate can rise from something like 1% to 5% which is a lot of people. I really hope everyone takes this seriously and follows all precautions and then some. We 'll then be able to later think we overreacted because few people died after all. Today I got a bit scared after reading about this, I try to stay cool, optimistic and do the right things.

For you, wife, and child to become immunized
by surviving a bout with the disease will NOT
prevent you from being carriers should you once
again become contaminated. So you need to take
care about your interactions with the old folks
even IF you yourselves become immune from
going through the infection. Being immune does
NOT make you "safe for others" ... only safe for
yourselves, and it's only "maybe" on that score.

    Concerning that big IF :

I was listening to an NPR interview with one of
the vaccine researchers and she emphasized that
not all viral infections produce immunity in those
who have survived the infection. Some do, and
some don't. This is of course very related to her
vaccine research. And she said that for covid19 it
is not yet known which way this one falls. IOW,
recovering from the disease MIGHT give you a
vaccine-like immunity ... but that still remains to
    be determined.

I mention that it was an NPR interview cuz NPR
never peddles panic or sensationalism. Very sane
bunch ... kinda like the BBC.

Went to the local Saloon (steak house) yesterday, we celebrated the last visit for some time as it seems. We all talked from table to table about what to expect in the future. We finished the evening with good Whiskey and good hopes for the time after the Corona troubles. Cheers!

    Quick update from NL:

Like many other European countries our schools, bars, restaurants are all closed until at least April 6th.
All gatherings of groups larger then 100 people are prohibited.

Online webshops from all the big supermarkets are overloaded with orders so they can't take any new orders for this week.
Public transport is still up and running, but people who sneeze/cough or have a fever must stay home and not go to work.

All the measures are put into place to keep virus infections from peaking in order to allow hospitals to handle the situation better.

Many businesses have their workers do their job from home as much as their remote office apps allow it.
My work has a capacity for max. 100 online users out of a total of around 320. Decisions will have to be made who does what and when.
A couple of projects planned for the next weeks will most likely have to be rescheduled. This will bring stress.

At this point it starts to look like a good idea to at least stock some extra food (no bog rolls, food!), which we will attempt tomorrow.
I also decided to take the opportunity to try and lose some weight =) as my belly is a little too fat to my own liking right now.

My m8 and guitarist of my band who owns a pub in my hometown is converting his café into an online studio where two dj's will be hosting a show on social media until the Corona situation has been stabilized, to keep the regular visitors entertained and in touch with one another.

Me I am looking for ways to keep my mind occupied but am also shying away from Facebook for now as the mind numbing narcissistic behaviour of some people is making me volatile and I do not want to explode towards anyone during this crisis situation.

On a positive note, read this: A human monoclonal antibody blocking SARS-CoV-2 infection
Of course, a vaccine would be best but those take a loooong time to create. This discovery might be the difference between life and death for some. Let's hope so!

We are about 30.000 trying to do some remote working; connections are brittle. Guess the techies have some job in upscaling the IT.

We just received pricing for extending our remote work environment for an extra 50 concurrent users... 60k euro per year ex vat.

Looking for ways to ease the load on systems.

Well, all public gathers of any kind are now prohibited, and no private gathers of more than 10 people.

Our president, Mr Macron, has just declared that France is in war against the virus (he repeat that 6 times). The Schegen area is closed, travel is limited to the strict minimum for at least 30 days.
Restorants, hotels, taxi cabs, are requisitioned for the hospital staff.
No corporate and personal bankruptcy. Taxes, loan terms... everything is suspended.
    It was a solemn moment!

I am officially "working" from home, starting today. The ironic part being that almost none of my job can be done from home. I just need to monitor emails for an emergency, and keep my cell phone handy. I am basically "on call", except I get full salary.

It's practically the only way I ever get paid to play bass. :p
