Following up on a lengthy thread over in the bass guitar forum related to a quite loud hiss in a 1997 Thumb NT 4-string (18v preamp). The bass produces a good amount of hiss when in active-EQ mode -- very quiet when in EQ bypass mode. I would like to replace the preamp with a current MEC. Went to their website and no dealer links for the USA. Help?

Also -- one nice fellow, commenting on a similar hiss, posted: "The service center had replaced the two op-amps on the cicuit board when he complained (very easy to do as they are mounted in sockets): TL064CN is now TL074CN; TL062CP is TL072CN."

Can I make this upgrade? Parts?

    Thx....
