Switching out my bridge, got my black bridge today. I removed the string anchor and I noticed the W is different and it doesn't have the Warwick name on the underside like the black one has.

The Chrome tuners didn't have the W either. I replaced those last year with W branded tuners.

Now I'm wondering if my Warco has counterfeit hardware or cheap replacement?? I mean it's a standard model 'vette but jeez, I thought even those had W branded stuff unless...2002 was different, and it is correct....so anybody know? I planned on offering the Chrome set here before it went up on Ebay, but I would feel bad if someone here got fake hardware and I had no idea. The stuff works just fine though.

I remember seeing some older Warwicks with the less "fancy" W on the tailpiece. I believe that is legitimate hardware but I can't be 100% sure. The black is going to look really sweet.

FWIW, my chrome HW on my 03 Vette doesnt have a W on the bridge at all, nor does my LX.

But both DO have the "W" and "Germany" on the tuners.

I'd love to see purple hardware on a white vette tbh... Soooo 90's Prince.

Black hardware FTW! I recently changed my SS2 from gold to black and it looks much better. The black hardware with the bubinga probably looks great!

That´s a winner, you have to send an email to HPW (a.k.a. "Tha BOSS") with the idea. 8:

Purple Hardware sounds pretty awesome on a white bass, but on a purple bass I'd prefer gold hardware.

Here's a tip. For an easy way to paint those chrome tailpiece screws black (unless you received black screws with your black tailpiece/bridge; I did not), just get a bottle of black automotive touchup paint. The brush is the perfect size, and the paint when dried matches the finish on the tailpiece pretty well. At least, that's what I did.

If you ever decided to go back to chrome, you could switch the hardware back and clean the screws with laquer thinner, and they would be chrome again.

think that'll work with knobs too? They gave me a 3 knob set but he did say they were used, the black is faded out on them...I wouldn't mind fixing them up, rather use them as they were no charge

I think lightly spraying the knobs would be better than painting them with a brush because of the textures on them.

I agree, the coating will be thinner an better applied then using a brush, plus its faster :)

    Just checked my bridges,
    05 LX- 'plain' W,
    06 dolphin SN "fancy' W,
    and 5 string 05 jazzman-no W. ( i think some fives had no W, and others had a W split by the D)

    weird
