Hello! As my description indicates, I'm a newbie, and as such will probably be making my first mistake shortly. Hopefully I’m posting this message correctly. Anyway, I have an Infinity 4-string that I purchased pre-loved from a major music center. I figured that I would get used to the instrument before trying to get any adjustments made to it. After a few months, I put a set of strings on and took it back to the same store to have the action lowered. When the guitar tech took off the cover for the nut housing, he saw that there was a “2” stamp in the nut cavity. He was unable to make any nut adjustments to lower the action. My question is whether or not Warwick distributes factory seconds? If not, what does the “2” mean?

    Any help is appreciated!!

    Hi,welcome to the forum.
By nut housing cover do you mean the truss rod cover, just behind the nut on the headstock, probably with Infinity written on it.
AFAIK Warwick do nut have seconds

Hey mate — have you tried running the Serial number through the database on the main Warwick site?

Never saw an Infinity with a maple fretboard either, should be a custom. The placement of the control knobs seems out of place as well.

    True, extra knob...

The cavity under the truss rod cover (regardless of the number 2) looks a little "off" to me... seen nothing like that before either.

Now that I take a closer look, I see that the bridge is a piezo bridge, which would explain the extra knobs! Def a custom build.

Thanks for the suggestion, Lex! Unfortunately, 4 work hours and 45 miles separate me from my bass night now. But as soon as I get home, I'll run the serial number through the Warwick database. Am I not as familiar with the site as I should be, or is this a 'newer' feature?

    Welcome ltsmith.
Are you a lefty dude?Your bass is strung upside down.
Warwick dont do factory seconds. The stamp is just left over from production. My old Thumb had either a Z or an N.

Good catch. The strap locks are standard so that would be wierd for a lefty.

    Yeah mate,that's what I was thinking too.But I couldnt make out a strap pin behind the bridge,so maybe they're recessed,like Dunlops.So they're not visible.;)
    It's fun playin detective huh.:)
