    HI guys,

I had a similar question before but,
Is there a way to defenitly tell one finish from the other without ruining it?:)

I am still not 120% convinced about the P-nut 3 and if against Mr. Wilfers statement my particular bass has an oil finsih only

like the spec sheet says explicitly I do not want to miss waxing it regularly.

:) sorry about being so insistant but I really want to give this one all the care it needs.

    cheers

I wholeheartedly beg WW to make satin standard. No matter how good you wax the bass, you still have to take the knobs off to wax it proper.

+1. My Stage 1 CS has a natural satin finish and it looks awesome. Plus, it requires no waxing and THAT is fantastic, I hate waxing. There are always parts you cannot wax, like between the bridge and the bridge pickup, or around the knobs... My bass just needs a polish cloth every now and then, and that's it.

Look under the bridge or tail piece. The spray on finish, like satin, is applied prior to hardware being fitted, & will overspray under these parts. A natural oil finish is applied by hand so it'll be raw wood.

dip your index finger in your mouth (or some water), and rub the bass. An oil finish bass especially if not waxed for a long time will absorb the water. A satin finish will keep it on the surface.

So is the satin finish a "hard" finish? Can it be wiped down with a cleaner?

Yes, satin finishes can be cleaned/wiped. There are several products made just for satin. Only one I've personally ever used is this...

*On a serious note, the most important thing about Woody reviving a zombie thread, is apparently some 8.5 years ago, Lord Schlo was the one asking questions!?!:eek::eek:

Yes, it's something like "I'm the one asking the questions here", like in a proper interrogation.

Also, even more shockingly, we now have two Woodys on our big, old forum.
