Well, it's a cool thing to hear that you will be advancing your education and that is always a good thing, but I am sad to hear you won't have the time to spend with the upright bass. It is a beautiful instrument and you seemed so happy when you got it. Well I wish you the best of luck with your studies and hope you find a good home for your beautiful bass.

    Woody,
You need a few English classes mate.
btw, let's not get on our high horses dude. Some of us still remember your near expulsion episode. When you poured boiling water on the snow covered footpath, to make ice, then watch unsuspecting people fall flat on their faces. All for your amusement because you're too poor to be able to afford more conventional student (albeit safer & socially more responsible) oriented entertainment.
Anyway, I'm personally relieved you managed to avoid expulsion & put your mother through all that unpleasantness.
You be a good boy now Woody.:)

He still hasn't picked it up.

As per my post above, I need to be quite clear to this guy what I'm going to do.

I'm out of town for a few days, but when I return home, I'm going to be setting a date, and giving him a final notice in writing that if the head isn't picked up by that date that he forfeits ownership of the head. I'll be keeping the payment he made to me as a storage fee, and donating the head.

We shall see once he has written notice warning him that he's about to lose the head whether or not he makes on final effort to pick it up.

    ???

    ;)

Hahahaha I tried that same ploy 8 months ago Charmed G, Luke didn't fall for it then either. Next to putting on a dress and showing up on his door step claiming to be the chick that was supposed to pick it up, I don't think any trick is gonna work on Luke. And while I may look smokin hot in a dress (just a guess, I never tried it) I think my beard my be a dead give away, so I don't think that would work either. But now that I think of it, since I do have the beard, and god knows, the belly for it, perhaps I could dress in red and convince Luke that I am Santa Clause and will deliver the head for him with my normal rounds later this month .... Ahhh, but he will never buy that ... I'm not that jolly of an old fellow.

    Well... it's all over.

Lee (the buyer) has actually moved down to Melbourne from Brisbane - last week. He called to let me know he arrived and dropped over and picked up the amp today.

From April 2010 to January 2011... that has to be some kind of record!

It was a bit sad... I was actually hoping he didn't pick it up this month so I could give it away, but it's gone now.

    Oh well.

    ;)

I don't know... from memory he paid me about $400 for the head... shipping would have been $25 or $30 I guess.

Massive flake, that guy! You are very cool for holding it that long. Did he at least offer up an apology for leaving you on the string for so long? In any case, ultimately, you did a good thing by holding it. Hats off to you mate! :)

A friend of mine had a roommate that moved out, and left half of her stuff behind. My friend told her to swing by and pick it up, the girl said yeah, but never did. After like 3 weeks, and several 'yeah I'll get it tomorrow's, my friend called the chick again, and told her she can find her stuff on the sidewalk. The girl said ok, she'd be right by. Two days later, after much of her stuff was picked through by neighbors and passersby, the girl shows up pissed off and demanding to know why my friend just 'gave' her stuff away. My friend basically told her to get a lawyer and take a walk. The girl tried, but no lawyer would take the case as she basically quit claim to the property by never picking it up, even after it was introduced to public domain... lame ass....

You did good Luke, and obviously have WAY more patience than my friend did! :)
