I asked Jonas at Namm around three years ago and he said they were no longer making the hellborg system. Just selling existing stock. They must be low and decided to move what ever they have left at a cheap price.

Il never sell my hellborg as this piece of kit will become a modern classic and collectable.

Look, this is only an opinion, I am pretty sure I am wrong here and there, but...
I think they designed a really cool distortion pedal (B3k). Awesome!!! Then, they expanded it to B7k, with EQ, and DI out. I don't understand that EQ, it is weird to me. That bass is too low to boost, to high to cut somehow. And in center position (which btw, I think it doesn't exist) it is somehow boomy. And the DI out doesn't sounds too good IMO. SO B7K is a coold distortion, with something like it feels to me a cheap sounding preamp and DI. Microtubes 900 is the same, plus a power amp, and a very interesting pot, like a passive tone for the distortion. Not bad. I like the distortion (I used in Vintage mode), I like that pot, it is very loud, but something is not quite right to me.
I have no experience with Alpha And Omega, and the new amps look good.
Long story short, I loved B7K and Microtubes 900 at first sight, but they started to be a bit boring after a while. If you offer me to chose between a Sans Amp BDDI and B7K to be my only sound shaping tool for a gig, I would use the BDDI with no hesitation.
I hope my post doesn't offend anybody.

I am totally offended!! Feel the roar of this Darkglass fanboi's rage!! Honestly you are totally allowed to voice whatever you think in a very open way that is what makes it fun. Personally I have found the absolute opposite with the B7K when used to emulate the biamping technique that is used widely for a long time where you split the low end and high end signals and shape them differently. Adding the fizz and extreme brightness to the high end helps to really cut through. I totally agree the sansamp did half of this in a slightly different way. As a straight up distortion the B7k is an extremely acquired taste and hard to pull off (I dont love it) but as a tool to sculpt that high end attack in the upper freq and keeping low-end relatively untouched (maybe a bit tighter) it excells and blows the Sansamp away IMO. You do have to really push the bass with the B7k for some reason and the mid sculpting takes time to get used to for sure! As a balls out distortion the AO is king. Anyway to me Darkglass live up to their name and more because they really do make ultra flexible and very detailed gear but dialling in a Nolly tone is easy..actually adding something extra through subtlety is where I love personally love their gear.

Ok Darkglass defended thats the best I got.

I Played through my hellbrog rig last night., Just at home in the studio.

Every time I do its just something about that system which has some kind of magic. Enjoyable to play, tone full, sweet, articulate.

I don't play it often due to the weight and size but if I was ever playing a big stage again I would roll it out for sure.

Yes, im a Hellborg fan boy ha ha.

I have absolutely, no idea.

Will post my findings here, once it's in.

Will be using it with CLass D amps, so no Hellborg magic up front :D

What makes this speaker special is the 15" coaxial speaker. So the tweeter is mounted in the middle of the 15" driver. This makes the phase better which makes the sound really tight and defined. Same tech as Tannoy type studio speakers.
Apparently the MDF wood they make these from is the same type they use to make high end home speakers, Its not birch ply or anything like that. Looks just like plane old mdf., but special.

Iv used mine with lots of different amps, My 300W tube amp, A quilter Bass block 800 class D, A Mark bass class D, My Hellborg pre into a QSC powerlight 3 pro amp. It all sounds good with this cab. The cab itself does not go really really low but it sits your bass in the right place in a band situation. In most cases the engineer will roll off the really low bass in a mix and this cab kinda does that for you by default. In saying that I uses to use it in my death metal band playing in low A and it was fine.

When you use this with the full hellborg setup is becomes really special but you will be happy with any amp you use as it is a great cab. the casters suck as they have plastic mounts but easy to replace.

They look classy also, I always felt out of place when I was rolling my hellborg rig into a shitty bar with a bunch of death metal bands ha ha. But, I always got lots of comments on how good my bass sounded, Mainly the DI on the hellborg pre into a large PA is devastating, Best comment I got was they said they could feel their teeth rattling in the back of their mouths. Doom!!!!

I always used to play 4x10's and due to back issues I switched to leightweight cabs (1x12 +4x8) , they sound fine but alway thought I was missing out on my favorite tones :)

Some time ago, somewhere ...I read that the Hellborg 1x15 was giving responses like a 410 cab...but pricewise they where out of reach, but not anymore!

Stoked ! cab is scheduled to be delivered today!

To me the Hellborg Rig was a different experience of playing bass. Normally you have to fight for your spot in the mix, both on stage and on FOH, usually ending by being too loud. With Hellborg pre everything you do can be heard you don't need harsh upper mids to cut through, you can actually move all buttons anyway you like and the bass will be there. With full hellborg rig on stage the experience was the same- you don't need volume to hear yourself anywhere on stage. I miss mine...
