Several years ago there was a picture posted here of a Thumb on which someone tried to fix a knockdown problem on. The person extended the upper horn by bolting om a 4 inch skick onto it. It was posted on this forum but I can't find. Help?

    Hey Patrik,

It might be that you mean my solution. It works very well, no neckdive at all!
I'll try and post the pictures here.

Not sure if the leverage on the screw will cause issues though :)

Nope, it doesnt. I assembled this in 2010, and it still works fine. I've been playing this bass very much!

The thinner aluminium tube fits in the hole where the recessed strapholder used to be. The thicker tube fits like a glove over the thinner one. So it it is one tight construction :)

One other advantage (for me that is) is that my left hand doesn't have to reach that far anymore, because the upper horn is somewhat longer!

Nice :) good to hear that it is a permanent alternative, and thankfully I would not do any stunts that would put undue stress on the joint.
