That spend more time listing the bad side effects than the actual cure?

Well check out this gem from New Wave Theater circa 1982- time stamp 11:40

The music varies in quality and genres from punk/New Wave to rockabilly with a little avant-garde. There's this one odd-metered song called "Tension" by the group Wet Picnic that I found interesting- time stamp 24:38

My fave drug ad, for some product I cannot
name cuz I cannot tell one ad from another
... just one big wizzing blur ... is an ad which
includes, in the fast talking list of warnings
of 1,000 possible side effects, the following
phrase, so fast you'd prolly miss it:

"In case of symptoms of a heart attack
    seek medical attention immediately."

Like, reeeeeeeeally ???? Really glad I saw
this ad, as otherwise I tend to just ignore
symptoms of heart attacks and just hope
they will go away. So ! I will find out what
drug runs that ad and be sure to take lots
of it, so I'll be clear about how to react to
symptoms of a heart attack. Til then, I'll
continue to ignore "symptoms" until the
Real Thing comes along. Hey, I think I
see a possible hit song there ....

Hairy eyeball scary eyeball .... is yourself ????
You do thorazine, or maybe used to do it ????

Must admit, sometimes I wish it was available
over the counter in a spray can, like Mace or
Pepper Spray. Would be more humane than
using either of those two ... and possibly even
theraputic ... for the "target" !

Truly, I got dear friends I could use that stuff
on, friends that I acoarst would nevvvvvvvuh
    Mace or Pepper Spray.

No but there have been times when friends or family might’ve suggested it or something similar, and even myself-

I have known those who have-

By the way I’m writing a novel about a musician who winds up in a psych ward.

Remember that line from Traffic’s Dear Mister Fantasy?

    “...
if it had been a straight mind you had,
we wouldn’t have known you all these years”

It’s a highly effective ad that would be considered too extreme for today, but what is that compared to these new ones which are actually more frightening with all the side effects they list?

Don't get me started! Now that would be a humorous faux ad-

"Tired of unruly children, loud neighbors? ...
Road rage a problem in your neighborhood?

    Look no further ...

    Try Nervana ...

Number one product preferred by military and law enforcement ...

Now available in five soothing scents ..."

And for those hard to calm situations, try Nervana Extra Strength enhanced with VX gas ...
