Anyone out there owned a 1983 Warwick Streamer, with the Spector licence, looking at one for sale and wondered if it’s worth the investment, tidy bass no damage but expensive?

There’s a bunch of us here with early paddlehead streamers.

To my knowledge, HPW didn’t make any until ‘84. Maybe @schlobodan can correct me.

Historically, these first year streamers tend to trade between $1700-$2000USD, and that’s without problems.

To date, their values haven’t seen a consistent clImb that I know of, which puts them more in collector territory and not “investments”

That said, German made Warwicks seem to be climbing some on the used market now that Rockbasses are seeing such sales…so I could see a situation 10 years from now where Warwicks are cool again, and German made ones from mid 90s and older become something some people will really pay for.

Not sure about the investment part, but they are cool instruments, and you will resell quickly as they are rare. Warwick has constantly improved the quality, with a few minor ups and downs, so the new ones are the best. The really old ones are the only models that can be a bit hit or miss, as the production was not very consistent there, but they are 100% hand made, so each one is unique both in shape and in sound, so... yeah, charming instruments :)

Has anybody here had this one?

I messaged them and mentioned I thought it was an ‘85 because it has the “Licensed by” cover plate…”Licensed by” didn’t happen until after Musikmesse ‘85, correct?

Anyway, looks solid enough. I’d say price is high, but you know, I’d like my own paddlehead to appreciate in value! 😁

The price is high - you can make an offer. 1500-1750€ seems realistic

I think it is the ‚refurbished‘ paddle head which has been offered some months ago via ebay, reverb, kleinanzeigen etc.
Seems to be offered now by a shop (Beyers) which means you will have some kind of warranty (12 months at least in the EU). I think that ‚justifies‘ a higher price compared to private offers..🤷🏼
