Can someone please suggest some compression settings for a mudvayne type sound (tight slap and fingerstyle) with a DBX compressor? ie. fast attack and release with overeasy on etc.

I'm not sure if this will help but on my M-pulse 600 I have my Threshold on about 7-8 and my Ratio 3-4.

Hey Mr Ampeg, hows that M-Pulse? I've heard good things about it... Played their 400+ for some time - that's a LOT of tubes!!! And therefore quite heavy...

Its amazing . The best sounding amp I have heard. Very warm, clean, and fat tone. I have never played on the 400+ I'm sure it sounds great. I just fell in love with the 600 even when I had the choice over the new Titan v-12, just can't beat the out standing tone shaping power. 8)

Yeah, the ratio is another point, should I be running it low at like 2:1 or heavy at like 8:1? I don't wanna lose too much low end, but would like the punch that the compression gives...
