    im getting heaps of fuz if i dont run the pickups the same when i use the switchs or if i pan the pick up to the neck or bridge

    Hey man,

    - New battery
    - Lower the pickups, as a general rule 4mm for the bridge pickup would be a good start.
    - Don't boost the lows too much...

    On passive, the sound should be clean, right?

    That means you have to search from the problem somewhere else matey.
    A passive pickup cannot distort by itself...
    So check your amp/ speaker, etc
