Well I listened to the music and I don't think that this is Christian Black Metal. This is more experimental Doom Noise.
I miss the lyrics where Virgin Templars kill the Dragon and burn the princess for being a witch and not a virgin. And other Deus Vult stuff :D

    Hi,

Not quite sure how seriously this is meant from your side, Sasha, but anyway, I don’t care much about labelling the music I listen to, but these guys in Drottnar play Christian black metal and have lots of good songs:

Black metal musicians are usually people who never left the age of 9.

I don't understand how "black metal" could be "christian"...

There is notthing wrong with black colord.
Devil made sequantial lair that black means evil. But in reality it is not!

    In Christianity
    black color means secret.
    white color means good.
    green color means living.
    blue color means life.
    red color means love.
    pink color means gentleness.
    golden color means perfection.
    azure color means happiness.

    And so on.

I wear black 120% of my life, so, please don't missunderstand me... I thought black metal was all about evil and (our pal) Satan, hence my question.

PS. Yes, I know almost nothing about black, doom, and all those "darker" kinds of metal. :)

Well, this is a matter of great (and, in my opinion, uninteresting) debate in certain circles; what exactly constitutes "black metal", and does it need to have a certain message to be characterized as such?

The way I see it, labels/genres based on lyrical content are pretty much useless, and thus I choose to ignore those opinions. To me, if it sounds like black metal, it is black metal, be it praising the lord above or below.

The same applies to death metal, probably my favorite genre of music. The genre name is in my opinion just a stupid moniker that for some reason stuck, and now some people think it has to be all gore and morbidity. How boring!

I am christian, lutheran-protestant to be exact. I play Death Metal, do I instantly play Lutheran Death Metal, even if our singer has atheist lyrics and I give a shit about the religious tendencies in music?
Or is it Protestant Death Metal?
Actually the 2nd sounds funny, we should take it for our band description :D

I don't see any inherent contradiction between the descriptors "Christian" and "black". The former describes the lyrics, the latter describes the music.

I think black metal is best understood as a reaction to death metal. The corpse paint goes back to bands like Kiss and Alice Cooper, and I think the early black metal guys were probably disappointed in the "jeans and t-shirt" aesthetic of thrash and death metal, and just wanted to bring some theatricality back into metal. At the same time, the rawer sound quality and looser approach of black metal hearkens back to hardcore punk, and I think can be seen as a rebellion against the technicality of bands like Death and Cryptopsy.
