    Bernard was a innovator. He is the only one I know of that devolved and used the technique of "Chucking"

    His death of influenza was a real loss at the age of 45 right after his gig in Tokyo

    Anyway Chic and the rest of his stuff was awesome....here's a clip

    Check out around the 3:00 mark for a good example of "Chucking"......love this stuff!!

    Bernard Edwards = Awesome!

    He was one of my first bass influences back when I began playing and still is. I love the lines in Good Times. Le Freak, I Want Your Love, He’s the Greatest Dancer, etc.

    It’s refreshing to see artists who can really play and sing. Le Chic seemed like a family- they certainly had a lot of heart in their music-
