May I suggest Tru Oil. Once you get the hang of it it's very easy to use and makes everything look glorious.

I think you should paint it shell pink. Only manly men play pink guitars.

I tought about an oil finish but after some talking with the fine guys at Madinter I´ll go for a transparent satin finish, but first will stamp a nice "logo" on th arm rest area of the body... wait for the pics. :D

Mmmmm... shell pink... think I'm not man enough, then...:oops:

Pretty wood ‘mano - consider a translucent finish. I have a Tele with a red translucent finish and it looks nice.

Nice. I built a Carvin kit a few years ago. It didn't come out perfect, but it's pretty nice, it's definitely distinctive, and it has a great, punchy tone.

They say if you want to do a hand finish (staining) you need only sand it down.

There are quite a few videos on Youtube about it, like this:

So you can create something other than just the wood colour :)

And here's how a mahogany body comes out using baby oil and warwick wax.

Those are great ideas, amigos, but I´m going with clear lacquer because I´ll transfer a logo to the body, using this technique:

    It will be phun! :)

    Hola, amigos,

As I told you before, I decided to add my custom "distressed f-clef" logo to the body and go with a transparent satin lacquer.
First step: transfering the logo to the body using a special kind of "white glue". Now It needs to dry very well before removing the paper with water. I'll come back to it tomorrow.

    Patience, little grasshopper. ;)
